A safe and effective vaccine against COVID-19 is generally regarded as the only way out of the COVID-19 crisis, especially if a widely predicted second wave develops. In this episode, RSM President-Elect Roger Kirby is joined by Professor Robin Shattock, Head of Mucosal Infection and Immunity at Imperial College London and Dr Thomas Breuer, Chief Medical Officer at GSK Vaccines to discuss how groups around the world are urgently working to develop a vaccine, and how it will be developed, tested, manufactured and become available at large scale.
Recorded on Tuesday 9 June 2020 as part of the Royal Society of Medicine’s COVID-19 Series.
