Arrhythmia Alliance is the recipient of the Bristol Myer Squibb (BMS)/Pfizer Alliance 4th Annual Advocacy Summit Collaborator Award.
The award recognizes an advocacy organization that worked effectively with others to achieve positive, inclusive results for heart patients and their care. Arrhythmia Alliance was nominated and selected by leading professionals and advocacy organizations within the heart rhythm field. The official announcement appointing Arrhythmia Alliance this year’s recipient was made during the Bristol Myer Squibb (BMS)/Pfizer Alliance’s Annual Anticoagulation Advocacy Summit held virtually on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
“The Alliance is recognizing the powerful collaborations the Arrhythmia Alliance has with many organizations and patients, focusing on improving the lives of CV (cardiovascular) patients and the clinicians who care for them.,” said George Sands, M.D. FAAN, FAHA, Senior Medical Director, US Medical Affairs, Internal Medicine, Pfizer.
To be considered for the BMS/Pfizer Alliance Advocacy Collaborator Award, an advocacy organization must demonstrate exceptional performance in the following areas: Establishing effective partnerships with other advocacy organizations; sharing knowledge and building consensus in decision-making with results of improving patients’ lives, prioritizing patients’ and caregiver’s needs through strong collaboration; and leading others through partnerships by its example as a leader.
“The whole ethos of Arrhythmia Alliance was founded in collaboration,” said Trudie Lobban, MBE FRCP (Edin), Founder, Arrhythmia Alliance, “to bring together patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, payors, advocacy, politicians, industry—everyone with an interest in, our case, heart rhythm disorders and atrial fibrillation.”
Founded in 2004, Arrhythmia Alliance and its founder, Trudie Lobban, MBE, have collaborated with esteemed partners globally including the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Society, Association of Black Cardiologists, Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association, American Heart Association, Physician Patient Alliance for Health & Safety, Mended Hearts, SADS Foundation, StopAfib.org, Parent Heart Watch, Sanford Burnham Prebys, Alliance for Aging Research, European Society of Cardiology, European Heart Rhythm Society, Primary Care Cardiovascular Society, Cardiac Arrhythmia Association of South Africa.

Arrhythmia Alliance will be further collaborating when it hosts the International Heart Rhythm Congress, October 9-11, Birmingham, UK. The Heart Rhythm Congress (HRC) will bring together over 220 international faculty members and joint sessions with HRS, EHRA, Venice Arrhythmias, BSH, PCCS, BHRS, and more.
