No Mind Left Behind: Support the Carers

No Mind Left Behind: Support the Carers Behind the Scenes

No Mind Left Behind: Support the Carers Behind the Scenes: This Mental Health Awareness Week (12–18 May 2025), Mind is calling for action: That includes the people holding others up—often without recognition or support.

Why Carers Matter

If you’re supporting someone with a mental health problem—checking in, managing appointments, helping them through daily life—you’re a carer. Whether you’re a friend, partner, sibling or neighbour, you’re doing vital work. But too often, you’re left out of the conversation.

Carers provide emotional, practical, and sometimes medical support. Yet many don’t realise they count as carers—and miss out on help they’re entitled to.

What Support Looks Like – Being a carer can affect your finances, health, and job. You might be eligible for Carer’s Allowance or local council support—even if you’re not formally registered.

Mental Health Is Everyone’s Business

Mental health isn’t separate from daily life—it’s woven into everything: money, work, relationships, physical health. But too many people still face barriers to support, especially those affected by racism, poverty, or long-term health conditions.

That’s why this year’s campaign matters. It’s time to fix a broken system and ensure no one is left behind—including carers.
