The Royal Society of Medicine

The Royal Society of Medicine is one of the UK’s major providers of postgraduate medical education. Independent and apolitical, the Society promotes an exchange of information and ideas on the science, practice and organisation of medicine. The origins of the Royal Society of Medicine date back to the 18th century when, throughout Europe, medical societies began to be founded with the object of bringing together physicians and surgeons.
