Michael Joy

Michael Joy, OBE, MD, FRCP, FACC, FESC, FRAeS was a cardiologist at Ashford St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust, Chertsey and to the UK Civil Aviation Authority, Gatwick for nearly 40 years. He held a visiting chair in clinical cardiology at Surrey University and was travelling professor to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). He co-drafted the ICAO and European standards in cardiology and wrote the guidance chapters. His book –Upon a Trailing Edge: Risk, the Heart and the Air Pilot, has recently been published by Troubador and is available directly, or from Blackwells, Waterstones, Google Books and Amazon.
